David Heinemeier Hansson, partner at 37signals and creator of Ruby on Rails, instant messaged me eventually in December 2010.

Hey, you need to design graphics for any race vehicle?

Hells yeah. Initially I'd a obvious vision of methods I needed the look to appear. I needed to produce a pixelated affect while using legendary 37signals logo design (created by Ammon Haggerty) over the body from the vehicle. The tricky part was the colour plan. I'd really no clue how to start. Listed here are the different colors I attempted:

Really what’s funny is I sprinted about this for 7 days after David contacted me using the project. It was around New Year’s, and so i didn’t possess a lot happening. After these initial designs I acquired taken away along with other responsibilities (like creating materials for that 37signals Suite). I dropped the ball around the vehicle design.

I did not listen to David for some time. Really, I had been staying away from the topic since i didn’t really develop every other designs. I understood the race was at March, however i didn’t genuinely have an understanding from the timeline to produce the graphics.

Then earlier this year he tweeted:

37signals vehicle coming alive: - because of @asianmack for design! first race by 50 percent days @ Sebring.

I had been amazed. His vehicle graphics guy required my concept and managed to get a real possibility. The vehicle looks great. Best of luck in Sebring DHH!
